Personal Project Meeting #9

30th of January, 2009
9.00 - 9.10

Things discussed:
Today in our 9th meeting, our first meeting in the third term, we had a lot to show my supervisor our progress we did during the holidays. I did not bring my sketchbook, though i was supposed to show her my latest designs which i came up with during the winter holiday. However I showed her my journal blog that I've been keeping to keep the notes organized. We took a look at it in our laptops and then we wrote down the URL of our blog and gave it to Ibu Sarah, so she will be able to access our blog and see the progress we've been doing. I have got around 40 posts there including this one. I brought my finished red top and i showed it to Ibu Sarah, she seemed quite pleased with the design and also the product.

Achievement:
By this step I have shown Ibu Sarah my organization skills by making the blog, and also i showed the product. I have more of them coming very soon.

Problem:
No problem occurs, but we'll have to work on the report a lot before the next meeting because we will be giving Ibu Sarah the hard copy for her to check.

I have read Jenisa Kamayana's journal entries and blogspot and the information provided is true, detailed and accurate.

Textile Hunting.

Today Kristina and I went to a few textile shop in Jakarta. We went to passer baroe and mayestik and another store that is located across DBest. We went there to look at some textile and to decide in mind about the color and textures we would like to put in our clothes. We considered asking about the prices and note them in mind. We're trying to find textile with good quality, yet at the same time can be considered inexpensive.

In the mean time, my tote bag is not finished yet because the tailor is cannot decide on which material should be used for the handle. So I called her and discussed it on the phone. I told her that if she can find material that is similar to flexible plastic or synthetic leather, it would do best. I also reminded her that the best color it should be in is black. and I suppose it won't be hard to find, because my tailor said she is now in Bandung, and there are a lot of textile shop there that she can ask for the material.

Journal- 20th January 2009

Today i changed my blog URL to:
www.fabuleuxjenisa.blogspot.com
I decided to change it because the old one was too long and hard to remember. In this new URL, the name of the clothing line, FABULEUX, is shown clearly.

Continuing my Report

Today I continue doing my report so that I can show it to Ibu Sarah in the next meeting. By the way, Kristina and I forgot to ask Ibu Sarah about our next meeting because either we ran out of time because of the short amount of time for lunch, or we (including Ibu Sarah) were busy thinking about Beijing and gathering the important material we need to hand in to her, and end up forgetting about the meeting. But then again, I think we'll ask to have a meeting this Friday, And I will show her my report, and my blog, also my first finished design, and all the sketches that she haven't seen, which I did over the holidays.

Making Charts out of My Questionnaire Result

I have been making charts out of my questionnaire results, using Microsoft Excel. I had my dad showing how to do it for the first question, the rest I did by myself. The charts are supposed to make it easier for people to look at how my correspondents responded towards each and every questions.

My First Finished Design

This afternoon my tailor came to my house along with my first design. My first design had been finished for a couple of days! It looks very nice and neatly sewn, and looks exactly like the illustration I drew before. I love my tailor's work so I decided to recruit her for my permanent dressmaker for the Glamour version of Fabuleux. The cutting looks great, and she picked out a very nice black material that we discussed before. I tried it on and it feels great because it's light weight and breezy, so I think it's perfect for warm-ish weather.

Holiday Work VII

Today I have decided to include a special item in my collection. For my 13th design, I decided to design a tote bag. It’s like a purse but in a simpler design and shape. I got my inspiration from scanning through some pictures in the Internet, and I think its shape is very convenient.

For its shape, I decided to stick with the original shape some tote bags have, and I put interest on the pattern of the material, also with some stitching details. I got my inspiration for the pattern from my recent trip home to Bali, in this case I decided to use the Balinese style checkered material. The colors consist of black, grey and white. And for the stitching details, I put in visible stitching lines on the sides and some lines crossing each other across the surface of the tote bag. I decided that light colored thread should be used for it (e.g. gold or light blue).

For the sketch, I feel like I have made a lot of progress in making illustrations. In this case I put in a drawing of a huge hand holding a smaller version of the tote bag. It was very devastating drawing the fingers, so I did what I learned in an episode of Disney Channel’s Art Attack; I took a photo of my own hand with my laptop and used it as a guide to draw. It turned out to be quite proportional.

Holiday Work VI

Today I talked to Kristina, my Personal Project partner, about the fashion show we’ll be having. We also discussed some very important things, including:

-       Asking a few people willing to volunteer being the models

-       Brainstorming on the people we think might be perfect to be the models

-       Plans on checking out places (e.g. restaurants/cafes) that would be possible to be the venue where the fashion show will be held.

-       Decorations

-       Plan on visiting a few orphanages to decide which would be the one we will be helping. I am personally thinking it is best to help the most unfortunate ones, those which keep in a lot of young children, and those who needs a lot of help getting food and to get the children to go to school.

Journal- 1st January 2009

Holiday Work V

On this first day of the New Year, I have made a lot of progress on my personal project. These in which I should list:

  1.             I called my dressmaker/tailor in Jakarta from Bali to check on the progress of my design. She reported that it was finished. I am very thrilled to see it soon, but unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to visit the tailor on the process of putting it all together. I assume it will look all right.
  2.             I have continued with my report, not so much but enough to cover all the rest of the processes I have done in the past week.
  3.             I have made another design, and this is the design I have thought of months ago, but never succeeded to decide on paper. It consists of a simple plaid shirt, and I combine skinny jeans with it. The detail on the plaid shirt is very unique, there are 3 zippers on it; on the front and on each sleeves. I also make the collar look more interesting by shaping it up with a button and a unique shape to go with the glamorous feel. This is my 12th design.

Holiday Work IV

I have to note that I’ve been designing these clothes based on 2 very important points:

  •           My taste in fashion
  •           The data result from my Fashion Questionnaire

Meanwhile today, I have made my 11th design. It is considered to be a casual wear and I strongly implement the Glamour theme in it by putting in sequins again. I made it according to one of the questions in my questionnaire, which is question #5, “Do you think casual wear can be modified as Glamorous clothing?” And to answer it, most of my correspondents answered “yes”. This particular design I made proves that it can be modified into glamorous clothing.

The design I just made is a top that we can use with tights or skinny jeans. There is a bit of white lace detail on the bottom part, and I think it looks very sophisticated and shiny.

Journal- 27th December 2008

Holiday Work III

Today I made 2 sketches. The second one is based on the first design, but I made a small change and make that changed design as an alternative of the original. That makes it I have 2 more sketches done.

These sketches are quite complicated, because the sewing would be harder to do. I put on a little bit of detail on the waist part, and if possible I want to make this detailed part with sequins. However, if putting in sequins isn’t possible (I’ll have to ask about the price of sewing on sequins and the time required to make it if I want this dress to me made), I’ll just choose out a very shiny material to sew it on, which would be similar to the sparkly sequin effect.

Journal- 24th of December 2008

Holiday Work II

For the work today, I drew another design, which is my 8th design.  This sketch was inspired by lace detailing. I have a dress that has black colored lace in it, so I thought it would be great to implement this black lace in the waist of a dress that I’m designing.

I love how the illustration came up, the body looks very proportional, and I think my online illustration tutorial had been working out great. I am trying to follow my supervisor’s advice to work a lot during the holidays in order to catch up with all the work I’ve got to do.

Journal- 23rd December 2008

Holiday Work I

It is already a holiday and I am continuing my personal project in Bali. I have brought all my equipments such as sketchbook, stationeries, journal book, and my Personal Project folder, along with me.

I have made one more sketch today. It took me a few minutes to get inspiration and think of unique ideas to spice up the design. I also thought of colors that would look great on it.

What I sketched was a design of a mini dress (or can be made into a medium length dress if desired), it includes a pattern in the middle section, and have 2 spaghetti straps for each shoulder. I think it looks very one-of-a-kind and I look forward in choosing the material (If I decided to make this one).

Seeing My Tailor/Dressmaker

It was pretty hard to contact my tailor because she is very busy. But at last, she was able to give a visit today. So this morning I asked her to come in the afternoon after school.

I decided to pick my simplest design that I own out of all that I have created until now. It is a simple, bohemian, yet glamorous top. It is half transparent and I picked red for its color, and the chiffon material I bought yesterday would look great for it.

The hard part was explaining the design to her, but it became easier after some time. I showed and let her borrow my sketch for a while so she can interpret it easily. I also had a very interesting challenge on choosing a few decisions, which here was choosing color, and additional material for detailing, on the waist and arm. We discussed whether:

  •        It will look good
  •        It will look balanced with the chiffon material
  •        The weight of the material, be unbalanced with the chiffon material and end up ruining the sewing
  •        The price tag is suitable.

She said my design would be ready soon.

Material Hunting

This morning I went to Passer Baroe, an area where they sell textile, garments, and dress materials. I decided to go here because I read in a magazine that this market is filled with many good stores. It is an old area, with old stores, but they seem to have unlimited supply of all kinds of materials. I walked around for a couple of hours with my mother accompanying me.

After considering prices, I bought red chiffon material with nice simple pattern on it, which cost me Rp. 24000 and also I bought a few meters of silky smooth material with roses pattern. I am thinking that they would be perfect for my design.

My Questionnaire Progress

Last month I finished making my Fashion Questionnaire, it consists of 12 closed questions and 3 open questions. After I copied them to about 20 sheets, I distributed them and waited for about a month to collect all 20 questionnaires back. Girls from various range of age filled them. I am now examining it to collect the data from their answers. I am very assured that these questionnaires would give me more ideas on my design and give me more inspiration towards the fashion style that people like best.

The problem I’m having with the questionnaire is that there are a small number of people who filled the questionnaire lazily, resulting in an incomplete source of data. This might create a little difficulty but I’m sure I’ve got enough information to manage. One person entirely refused filling in the open questions, and 2 people didn’t give reasoning in the answer they chose, when they are asked to.

Journal- 13th December 2008

My Sketches

I have added more sketches today. This time it is a sketch of my own designed short dress. What I have been thinking is to make as many sketches possible, perhaps 20. And along the way, I'll choose out the ones that I think would be made real.  (The idea is to make 4 seasonal dresses and 4 seasonal casual wear, but I suppose I can add it up with if I wanted to)

I am slowly getting better at sketching fashion illustrations. I have practiced a lot and noticed improvement in my drawings. I can now draw very quickly and can visualize my design more creatively and easily than before. I can think of a few more body poses and detail structuring of a woman's body features in the illustration.

I have finally got 7 designs sketched already, yet I have many more in mind and will have them sketched very soon.

Personal Project Meeting #8

12th December 2008

13.00 – 13.10

Items discussed:

Today is our last meeting before holidays arrive. I showed my recent sketches, which up until now has a total of 6 sketches. And then we discussed how we are supposed to keep the report going, and we should always write down the detail of processes we come across. For example the writing about the goal, purpose and things learnt, is the very first writing we put in the report, and we should be doing the introduction. After that I should write down in detailed format, every step that I have done ever since, in this case, researching and learning to do fashion illustration.

Achievement:

We learn to be more organized, use our time well (as we do the report and the process at the same time), and we learn to evaluate our own work.

Problems:

I have been focusing a lot on sketching and not on report. To overcome this problem, I will be paying more attention on doing it.

I have read Jenisa Kamayana's journal entries and blogspot and the information provided is true, detailed and accurate.

Continue Designing

Today I have done two more sketches of my latest designs. I have improved my drawing skill by learning to put in shadows on the person and the dress/clothes. I got my inspiration from pictures I’ve seen in magazines or have come across them on the Internet. When I’m interested in a certain detail showed in a picture (e.g. specific color, belt, or other detail), I put some in my own design, making it more exquisite.

A few days ago I talked on the phone with my dressmaker. I explained to her that I have a project at school where I’ll be designing and sketching clothes. I asked if she’s capable of doing it with me. I also explained to her what style my clothes are going to be like; which is Glamorous. When she said she’d try it out, I asked her to come to my house so we can discuss it further.

Personal Project Meeting #7

14th November 2008

13.00 – 13.05

Items discussed:

The meeting today was about our further progress in the process of making the clothing line. I haven’t showed my progress in making the report, but I have made more sketches, so I showed and explained about them to Ibu Sarah. We talked about how important it is to keep on track on the processes that we are currently doing.

Achievement:

I have gained a lot of progress and showed my supervisor that my study on fashion illustration has succeeded. I now have less difficulty in sketching a basic fashion illustration.

Problems:

I should show Bu Sarah my report progress.

I have read Jenisa Kamayana's journal entries and blogspot and the information provided is true, detailed and accurate.

Starting on my Questionnaire

Right now I am making a questionnaire that will be used to gather information and ideas of clothes that are suitable for girls’ fashion taste. By gathering information from this questionnaire, I can then be able to see what girls like most and also what they like least. I can then also interpret from their answers, to see whether they are very up to date and if they care about fashion. I want to be able to know their choices in favorite brands, and their celebrity fashion role model, and after that I can look at the style that is used in those brands and use them as inspiration, combined with my own ideas.

I will photo copy my questionnaire to about 20 sheets, and I’ll distribute them to 20 girls at school and outside of school.

Personal Project Meeting #6

7th of November 2008

13.00 – 1.15 PM

Items discussed:

We submitted our starter sheet of the report that was already fixed, and Ibu Sarah said they are so much better than before. We then showed our recent sketches. I showed my sketches that I learned to do by copying from the Internet. I told her how I did the guidelines and shadings. I also told her where I got my inspiration from.

Achievement:

We have completed writing our goal, purpose, GQ, and what we’ll learn from the project. Also, we have gotten one step further on learning to sketch.

Problems:

So far, no problem encountered.

In the next meeting we will submit the explanation of process that we did while learning to sketch

Fixing Writing the Starter sheet of the Report

Today I finally fixed the writing about my goal, guiding question, purpose and what we’ll get to learn from the project. I changed some sentences and now it looks a lot better. It’s stated clearly and with correct grammar.

Personal Project Meeting #5

28th of October 2008

12.30 - 12.40

Items discussed:

Today, Ibu Sarah handed back our starter sheets of the report containing our GQ, goal, things we’ll learn, etc. She already checked it and read through it. We had to improve it by changing some things and explain what we’re going to do in the project straight out and detailed.

Achivement:

I know now that I have a suitable Guiding Question and goal that connects with it. I just need to explain in more detailed matter.

Problems:

In my sheet, Ibu Sarah noticed and told me that I tend to write the same point repetitively. She showed me how it is supposed to be written. It also needs to be detailed, and I shall show how I plan the product making and all of the other activities involved in the process of making my project.

We've Got a Clothing Line Name

My partner, Kristina and I have decided on the clothing line name, which is:

Fabuleux
(pronounciation: fab-you-low)

Fabuleux is French for 'fabulous'.
We have decided on the logo, it is a drawing of a beautiful, colorful eye. I have done the rough sketch of it, and Kristina decided on some changes, so we will discuss the colors of the logo and make it in a neater version. We have showed Ibu Sarah our logo today, and also the clothing line name. We'll be having our 5th meeting tomorrow

Journal- 21st October 2008

Coming Up with a Label Name.

Today my partner and I have decided that we will be using the same name for our 2 different versions, we'll just add the name of the version at the back of the clothing line name to address the Glamour and Chic versions.

Earlier today I have looked u a few names to choose from. I looked them up in many languages in an online dictionary provided on the internet. These are a few that interest me:
  1. Vivacious = lively, dashing   ( English)
  2. Volare = fly (Italian)
  3. Bellezza = beauty (Italian)
  4. Farfalla = butterfly (Italian)
  5. Pollo Liquido (Spanish)
  6. Verita (Italian)
  7. Stellar = awesome (English slang)
  8. Ardour = cool (French)
  9. Fabuleux = fabulous (French)
I will inform and discuss it with Kristina tomorrow at school. I personally like #9, "Fabuleux"

Personal Project Meeting #4

21st of October, 2008
12.30 - 12.40

Items discussed:
Today my partner and I showed Bu Sarah our new goal when we put the relation to our new Guiding Question. There were some errors in the grammar which doesn't describe the ideas clearly, so we corrected them by choosing more suitable sentences. By doing this, we fix the mistakes that we have made, in order to obtain a more effective and clearly-stated goal. Our goal needs to be detailed, clear, and well related to our Guiding Question. I have showed my chosen Guiding Question to my supervisor.

Achievement:
I am improving my effectiveness in writing the processes and am able to make a clear statement of the target I want to reach in this project, which in this case is I want to be able to create creativity products and at the same time use it to make money for charity. That way we'll be more focused and has own own guide to follow through out the process and end result.

Problem: -

Soon, we will submit the print out of what i call the starter sheet (goal, achievements, etc). And in the next meeting, Ibu Sarah would have checked it and tell us if there are any errors in it.

I have read Jenisa Kamayana's journal entries and blogspot and the information provided is true, detailed and accurate.

I've got a Guiding Question

Today I have fixed my goal and purpose in the writing I have done in the early weeks by putting down my new Guiding Question. Which is:

" How can Fashion be the center of attention, as well as a builder of strong bonds between people? "

I will be showing it to my supervisor in the next meeting.
Note: I have not talked any further with my partner about the clothing line name issue, but I will surely have the chance for it tomorrow.

Notebook Ideas

I have not made my questionnaires yet, but I am finishing rewriting my goals to make it connect to my chosen guiding question.

At the same time, I want to remember how to write an appropriate questionnaire first. I've done it in Humanities last year. I will have another look at it again, to remind me of my own experience making a successional questionnaire.

In the mean time I must remember that in making my designs, even though I want people's fashion sense and opinion affecting the design, I also want to put in a lot of my own fashion sense, taste, opinion, and desire. To do this I have drawn a few rough sketches in a  little notebook. I do this to experiment and have more ideas along the way. I have been bringing this notebook everywhere just in case I suddenly struck with inspiration. What I do is I draw my ideas on it so that I won't forget them. The sketches are a bit untidy and rough, but it's just for remembrance therefore I'm okay with it. I'll be doing them neatly in my sketchbook, and before that I'll examine each of the sketches and ideas thoroughly.

Journal- 5th October 2008

Further Progress

Today, I went on the internet again and looked at the latest fashion all over the world. I specifically looked at some celebrities trend setter and noted down a few styles that caught my attention.

I am not doing very good on sketching but I have made a lot of progress from before. I will certainly work on it more.

What I am planning to do is think about my Guiding Question, and make a connection for it to my goals. I will definitely rewrite the "starter sheet"(the goal, purpose, and what we'll learn from that personal project) I have made earlier to make a well connected, reasonable piece. It will help guide me through my project and to my preferred goals.

What I think what I will have to do is make a simple questionnaire to help me understand what people (in this case, girls) prefer to see in my clothing line. Perhaps it will include questions asking them about their favorite color, favorite fashion role model, etc.

Journal- 1st October 2008

Coming Up with a Name

This afternoon I decided to look through the internet to find names for our clothing line. We have not decided which way we're going with the name arrangement, but I think it would be best to have some ideas early on to talk about.

What I did initially was looking up on the internet, I searched for "clothing line name ideas" in search engines, and from there on I have actually found a few, but none of them seems very appealing. So after that, I even went to an Italian Online Dictionary website and typed up some words/phrases to see whether the English words would look appealing when translated into Italian. Unfortunately that did not work well either.

So what I did was I picked up an old English pocked dictionary I have and started flicking through the pages in hope to find interesting words. The results I came across are:
  1. Vivacious -> lively, full of life and energy, long lived, dashing, difficult to kill.
  2. Jiffy Jinx  -> a quick spell
I think those words look very attractive, but I will search for more later on.

Journal- 30th September 2008

Clothing Line Name

I have talked things out with my partner, Kristina, regarding the clothing line name. We have a few thoughts about whether to:
  • use the exact same name for both our versions
  • create two different names for each version
  • create different names for each version but put additional word to it to put a difference, so people will know we have 2 different versions yet we are still connected in the same label.
We think if we use just one name, it would be difficult for people to see that we have different versions. On the other hand having 2 different names would not make it look like those 2 versions come from the same clothing line. Therefore I personally think it would be best to choose the third option. I will talk it out with Kristina as soon as possible.

Journal- 25th September 2008

Dividing the Clothing Line into Two Versions

My partner and I have talked to Ibu Eva a few weeks ago, she informed us that even though we are working in a team, the work we do must be entirely different, to avoid fights and such. So both of us had been thinking what we can do effectively, in 2 different work fields. We figured we cannot put one in charge of designing and the other in charge on the fashion show, because that will not work effectively, and might create fights. So what we did was, we decided to divide our clothing line into 2 different version of style:
  • Glamour
  • Chic
So what I will be focusing on is the Glamour version. I will be designing clothes that yells out 'the glamorous feel' when worn. And Kristina will be doing the Chic version

According to http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/glamor, the definition of glamour is: " The quality of fascinating, alluring, or attracting, esp. by a combination of charm and good looks"

Personal Project Meeting #3

15th of September 2008
12.30 - 12.40 PM

Items discussed:
Today, Ibu Sarah, Kristina and me discussed the choices of my Guiding Question. What I have to do now is:
  1. Choose the one Guiding Question that fits the goal the most
  2. Relate the GQ to the things that I will do in my project
Or I can:
  1. Fix either the goal of my chosen guiding question. This is done so that my goal would be the result I will get from my guiding question at the end of the whole project.
I think what I am going to do is, I will choose the Guiding Question that I think suits my goal me the most, and then i will modify my goals to relate them to be the results of the GQ.

Achievement:
I will have a goal and guiding question that reflect my whole project and its processes suitably, including my results of the whole project and also the report.

On the next meeting  i will show the chosen and improved Guiding Question, along with new goals to my supervisor. I will then explain the relation between the two aspects

Problems:
I think the problem that I will be having is to modify the goal and GQ so that they are both connected efficiently.

I have read Jenisa Kamayana's journal entries and blogspot and the information provided is true, detailed and accurate.

Continuing Practicing Drawings

Today I spent 1 hour to continue practicing my drawing skills. I realize that drawing fashion illustrations are very hard to do. Since I have no basic in skills of drawing human body parts, I decided to practice by picking out illustrations from several websites that I found while researching, and I picked out the ones that are my favorites to be a guide in practicing.

I tried drawing them onto my sketchbook, I tried it so many times, in a way to figure out how is the best way to draw it. I used my shading and guidelines techniques that i have learnt earlier. I copy those illustrations for practicing and familiarizing myself with drawing all kinds of body postures. These practice drawings will then be my guide/direction to look up to when drawing all of my designs.

And for the next few days, I want to continue practicing in order to get better at it quicker.

Journal- 8th September 2008

Posture-Drawing Practice

Today I researched on the internet to find online tutorial on drawing fashion illustrations. I found some videos that I found useful in showing how a proportioned female body can be drawn roughly. And then I also found articles in detailing of drawing faces, this include the shape of eyes and lips. The websites i used as resources are:
  • http://www.creativeshake.com/zoom.html?User_number=reniehanna&imagecount=1
This below is the example of fashion illustration in those websites that i very much take interest in. I tried learning by copying them first.
And then i tried to do my very first illustration in order to practice. What i did was i tried to copy a few illustration in those websites
above again and again. I used guidelines and focused on how a human body is naturally positioned, in any pose it is in. After doing it several times, it was still a bit hard and i was not very successful in making it look attractive. But i kept practicing and then i started adding shadings to make the lines look stronger, and to highlight some areas.

In the end when i was finished, I showed it to my Mom. She is a plastic surgeon and is used to draw female body parts in perfect proportion. She then explained and pointed out the mistakes i had in my drawings, e.g. the range between the mouth and nose is wrong. I then learned from her that the way it is supposed to be is:
-the range from chin to lip supposed to be 1/3 of the face
-the range from nose to eyebrows supposed to be 1/3 of the face
-the other 1/3 part is the forehead.

I learned a lot from my intensive researched references, I spent 2 hours in researching and from my mother's advice.

Journal- 1st September 2008

Coming up with a Guiding Question.

I have thought of a few choices for alternative that i will use as a Guiding Question for my Personal Project. Making relations to my goal and purposes, these are a few that i have came up with:
  • How is fashion able to get people's attention?
  • How can fashion be able to unite people now and from time to time?
  • How can fashion be the center of attention, as well as a builder of strong bonds between people?
  • How can fashion be a center of attention, as well as making a brighter future for life?
I have brainstormed them again and decided that it will be either 'How can fashion be able to unite people now and from time to time?' or 'how can fashion be the center of attention, as well as a builder of strong bonds between people?'.

Further discussion with my supervisor will be done to help me select the most suitable Guiding Question.

Personal Project Meeting #2

29th of August, 2008
12.50 - 13.05 PM

Items discussed:
Today we discussed the writing we did about the project's goal, purpose, and what will be learned and achieved from it. We also took time to analyze them and think of the possible improvements that can be done to it. We also took a look at a last year's Personal Project by students with similar project as ours, and we discussed how the grading/scoring plays part, and looked at the highlights of the report in hope to understand the concept needed to be done for it.

Achievement:
The further explanation and discussion regarding the planning of the product makes it easier for me to have ideas of how things will work out in the Personal Project process. It was also nice to see an example of a great report to have the idea of what we will have to prepare in it.

Problems:
So far there are no problems, but i will have to fix up my writing on the goal, purpose, and achievement earlier, and add explanation about how i will learn in doing the project.

For the next meeting, we will come up with 2 guiding questions (one for each person), and discuss how it covers the whole project including the goal. Also, we will be discussion further plan for the process

I have read Jenisa Kamayana's journal entries and blogspot and the information provided is true, detailed and accurate.

Personal Project Meeting #1

26th of August, 2008
12.30 - 12.40 PM

Items Discussed:
We discussed our project thoroughly, explaining briefly to the supervisor about each of our (me and my partner Kristina) different tasks in the project, and also we shared our thoughts of how we will be able to complete the project successfully step by step. We were then given questions by the supervisor regarding our plans in the project, connecting it with our goal, purpose, and what we want to learn/achieve from doing it. We'll then type it up and answer those particular questions, which is believed to be understanding more about our Personal Project, and what is gained from it.

Achievements:
We can focus and understand more about our project, it makes it easier to imagine our way through the processes of the project. I have also learned that the process is what's vital in having to do the project, no less than the final product.

Problems:
So far we have not encountered any problems, but if one does come up, we'll discus it with our supervisor and hopefully well be able to solve them with the best effort.

For the next meeting, we will discuss our goal, purpose, and achievement that will be gained through out the project.

Starting the Project

Hello. My name is Jenisa from Year 10 in Sekolah Global Jaya, Bintaro. The purpose of this blog is to record a journal of processes and meetings that i have attended with my Supervisor. It is hoped that this blog will be an effective way to do best on my Personal Project, which is a required stage in year 10 that every student has to do in my school.

For my project, i took time to brainstorm on what i will be doing. Considering i love these few things:
- i take much interest in fashion
- i love drawings
- i want to upgrade my skills in creativity
- i want to be able to help a lot poor/unfortunate people
- i want to upgrade my skills in organization

and i have found a perfect subject to make a project on: Making a whole collection of Clothing Line, grouped in seasonal themes, and in the end make a charity fashion show to collect money to be given to orphanages.

I talked it out with my Supervisor, Ibu Sarah, and my partner, Kristina Engstrom. The further posts in this blog shows my journal of what i do in the process of making it happen. Enjoy!
