yo. I can not get my pp report into moodle, since the file itself is actually 30 MB. talk abt exceeding limits. -_-

so anyways there isnt much that I can do about it, so I decided to just use a CD and give it to Ibu Poppy. Bu eva resigned, as we all know, and for a reason that we all DONT know -_-.. she went 'missing' just a week before the due date, practically ditching us year 10 in a clueless state of personal-project-minds. So here we are. brain-missing.

well, i am just so glad that I finished my PP that I don't care at all abt all the above. Ill be giving the CD soon, have a swell presentation with bu sarah and pak matthew (have i mentioned he turned out to be our moderator? no? my bad) soon, and get the exhibition over with on the 14th of may. nah, im just messing, it'll be awesome, can't wait to let the world see Fabuleux. BOOM. and there it goes, my first showcase.

My Catalogue

The catalogue that I have been making for this past 2 weeks is finally finished. I went to Subur, a professional digital printing place located in Kebayoran Baru, as recommended by a friend of mine, Belinda Mursidi. It took me about an hour because there was a long line, since it was on the weekend people were trying to finish their works too. When it was my turn, I talked to the person in charge of the printing, how I want the catalogue to be printed, what kind of paper I want to use (there are so many choices so we discussed that too), and how to bind it.

I ended up with 2 spiral-bind catalogues and 1 hard cover catalogue. I will give the hard cover one to my Supervisor, and the spiral ones for me and family. The spiral-bind catalogues are with me now, but the hard cover one will be finished on Monday, so I can show it to Bu Sarah on Tuesday.

The report is going great, I e-mailed Bu Sarah to give me a statement to be put in all my meeting forms in the blog, and I'm going to put them in now.

Today I am completing my catalogue to be printed tomorrow. I am still completing my report too, and the due date is in one week.

17th April: submission to supervisor

Items discussed:
As requsted by supervisor, I handed in my report. It is not finished yet, but Ibu Sarah asked to see what I have written in there until now and make sure I am on the right track on writing the report.

Achievements:
I am now finished with my product which is the set of clothes, the catalogue is almost done, and my report is 50% done.


Problems:
No problems to address.

Lunch time

Items disscussed:
Today I gave my corrected proposal to Ibu Sarah, she already checked it and signed it. I also have a new AOI which is now only Human Ingenuity. I had to remove the Community and Service since I will not be hosting a charity fashion show anymore. We talked about my progress and then I showed her my catalogue on my laptop. I had questions about how the referencing will be like, so she explained it to me briefly.

Achievements:
I now have an official new proposal and already made it clear to my supervisor of how the catalogue is going. She was impressed that qe handled the situation fantastically in a short amount of time.

Problems:
No problems to address.

Personal Project Meeting #12

Friday, 3rd of April 2009
Lunch time

Items discussed:
We talked about how I am making a new proposal regarding how I want to change from having the fashion show into making a simple catalogue. It is necessary to make this change bwcause there is simply no time for the hecticness of organizing an actual fashion show with such little time. The catalogue is additional to the actual products. It will consist of pictures to present the designs, just like actual brands have catalogues to show their products to costumers. I told my supervisor how I am already in the middle of creating the catalogue, and also assured her that I will be done on time for the due date. I already hand in the new proposal for her to check.

Achievement:
I am able to acknowledge problems and find an immidiate solution to overcome it. I also have a new Guiding Question: "How can different fashion tastes refer to different individuals and do they change overtime?" and changed to just one AOI: Human Ingenuity.

Problems:
Ibu Sarah told me to add a statement to address how I am changing from the old plan to the new one. I will do it ASAP and get her to sign it in our next meeting,in order to sure it is a relevant new proposal and is under her approval.

Interview with Denny Wirawan

Denny Wirawan is a very famous designer well known for his brilliant ideas in haute couture. I have seen his designs in the internet and they look very vibrant, earthy, and some are very wonderfully created with bright color combinations. My mum contacted him so that I can meet him in person ASAP. luckily he was kind enough to have me in his studio in Cipete. After school, i went straight to his studio along with my mum and Kristina. I brought all of my designs including my sketch book. I asked for his advice on designing clothes, he even commented each and every piece that i brought with me.

I already had a list of questions from a few weeks ago in my laptop, so I successfully got satisfying answers from him. He was very chatty, he talks in specific details, i asked him about his journey in the fashion world from the start. He became one of my inspiration in designing now. I even got to look at his designs first-hand. They are quite astonishing. The result of the interview will be included in my report.

Another Photo-shoot

Stefanie and I had another photo-shoot today, but thankfully it is a less hectic one. We only had 5 items to be shot, and unfortunately we didn't have much time so we only shot 4 items. I guess I will be doing the last one alone with the help of my Mum or someone else.

The catalogue is going well, i am putting fashion quotes from the world's famous fashion industry people. It is very hard using Photoshop because I have never been quite a fan of it before. Still, it was fun looking how the pictures look different and more eye-catching. I tend to make the items the center of the attention in the picture. one of the example that I'm most proud of is one that looks like this:

Interview with Indah Kalalo

This afternoon I met with Indah Kalalo, she is a very well-known fashion model in the Indonesian fashion industry. My mum helped me getting an appointment in her house. Before i met with her, I already made some research on what her job requires her to do, look at some of her pictures, etc. to get the idea of what to ask her.

I alerady made a list of questions to ask her for the interview, and I decided to interview her in a chatty conversation. She turned out to be a very kind woman, very pretty indeed, and heart-warming. I will include the interview in my report.

She gave comments on my designs, and even tried out a few of them. She told me she loved my animal print black coat, tried it for a couple of times in front of the mirror. It was shocking to me that she said she really wanted to have it, but i told her i need it to be graded first.

Last designs finished

Today is probably my last meeting with my tailor. She came a bit late today but since I didn't come to Family Fun Day at School on this Saturday, I was able to meet her after all. She brought a friend from the Tasha House of Tailor, she wanted to meet me in person after seeing my designs. I was happy to hear it and she also gave comments on my designs.

The tailor brought in 3 of my last designs, and they turned out to be really good. I have an animal print black coat which fits perfectly, a purple plaid jacket which doesn't look exactly like the sketch but they did mention it to me on the phone because it was hard to interpret my drawing -_-. Last but not least the yellow and black dress, it looks nice but unfortunately the yellow did not stand out because of the black cloth behind it.

Photoshoot for the Catalogue

I asked my friend's help, her name is Amelia STEFANIE Aris, to help and be my photographer in this photoshoot. I am doing the same thing for her because she needs her designs to be taken photos too. The photos then will be edited in photoshop software by myself. I only took photos of the designs that are finished. The rest will be done later. The shoot took place in Stefanie's house, I took a car full of props, costumes, shoes and accessories with me to her house. It was very tiring because we took hundreds of photos ready to be picked out.

Tonight I am starting to edit the photos, so that they'll look good in the catalogue. My plan is to make a simple catalogue, not a very complicated one, as it is only an additional thing to present my product. I use an old ELLE magazine to help me decide how to edit the photos. I will include it as a reference in the report.
